Best Rooftop Bars in Palma de Mallorca: 6 Spots for Sunset
Palma has more rooftop bars than most cities its size, and the great ones have views of the cathedral and the sea. This guide covers six of best rooftop bars in Palma de Mallorca, most on top of interesting hotels, and what to expect at each. Several are guest-only by day and open to the public at night, so time your visit for the evening. My favorite is last, a small terrace with great cocktails and the best cathedral view I found.

Best Rooftop in Palma for the Scene: Rooftop El Llorenç
Rooftop El Llorenç is on top of the El Llorenç Parc de la Mar hotel in the La Calatrava district, and it’s a showpiece of Palma’s rooftop scene. It has the longest infinity pool on the island and one of the few terraces in town with a view of both the bay and the cathedral. The kitchen menu comes from Michelin-starred chef Santi Taura, with dishes like seabass ceviche using local seafood, and the cocktail menu is extensive. Non-hotel guests are welcome from 11:30am, so this is one you can visit during the day.
- What to Order: The seabass ceviche and a cocktail on the terrace, with a table facing the water.
- Best If: You want the single best scene in Palma and a proper meal to go with the drinks.
- Skip If: You want somewhere cheap or low-key. This is the luxury end, and it’s priced that way.
Best Sunset Cocktails in Palma: Singular Rooftop
Singular Rooftop is located atop the five-star Sant Francesc Hotel Singular in the Old Town, with a lovely view over Palma to the cathedral and the sea. The signature drink is the Mediterranean Sunset, made with local gin, Mallorcan herbs, island citrus, and a touch of sparkling wine. The deconstructed seafood paella is the best dish to get if you’re hungry. The pool is for hotel guests during the day, but the rooftop opens to the public in the evening.
- What to Order: The Mediterranean Sunset cocktail, and the deconstructed seafood paella if you’re making a meal of it.
- Best If: You want a stylish Old Town rooftop for sunset drinks with a cathedral view.
- Skip If: You want a daytime swim-and-lounge spot. The pool is guests-only, and the bar is an evening scene.
Best Value Rooftop in Palma: Hotel Almudaina
The rooftop above Hotel Almudaina, with a small entrance on the shopping street Avinguda Jaume III, is a relaxed, good-value pick. It looks out over the cathedral, the Mediterranean, and the city’s historic rooftops, and it features chill-out music, cocktails, and a menu of international dishes at prices well below the luxury bars. It’s also central and easy to reach.
- What to Order: A cocktail and a few small plates, out on the terrace facing the cathedral.
- Best If: You want a rooftop view without the five-star price, in the middle of the shopping district.
- Skip If: You’re after a glamorous scene. This one is laid-back.
Best Rooftop in Santa Catalina: Hostal Cuba Sky Bar
The Sky Bar on top of Hotel Hostal Cuba is in Santa Catalina, Palma’s trendiest food-and-drink district, in a classic 120-year-old building. The rooftop has 360-degree views of the city, the ocean, the cathedral, and the harbor, and it works well for a morning coffee, a sunset cocktail, or a late drink. It’s open to non-guests, so you can go up whether or not you’re staying.
If you do stay here, the Hotel Hostal Cuba is not a hostel. It’s a 4-star boutique hotel in the heart of the trendiest food-and-drink district, though the Santa Catalina nightlife means it can be noisy late on weekends, so ask for a quieter room.
- What to Order: A cocktail at sunset, with a spot on the rail for the 360-degree view.
- Best If: You want a rooftop in the middle of the Santa Catalina food scene that’s open all day.
- Skip If: You want a quiet spot. Santa Catalina is lively, and the rooftop reflects it.

Best Rooftop for a Polished Stay: Hotel Saratoga Sky Bar
The Sky Bar on the seventh floor of Hotel Saratoga, on Passeig de Mallorca, has cathedral and port views and is located above one of the hotel’s three pools. It’s a comfortable, central spot for a drink with a view, and a little more classic and less scene-y than the boutique rooftops. It’s been run by the same family since 1962.
You can also stay here. Hotel Saratoga is a landmark 4-star superior hotel on Passeig de Mallorca with three pools including a rooftop pool, central and comfortable, a step up for a stay with a bit of polish.
- What to Order: A drink at the Sky Bar with a table toward the cathedral and port.
- Best If: You want a central, comfortable rooftop and a polished hotel to stay in.
- Skip If: You want a buzzy boutique scene. This one is more traditional.

My Favorite Rooftop Bar in Palma de Mallorca: Hotel Nakar Sky Bar
The Sky Bar on top of Hotel Nakar on Avinguda Jaume III is small, but it has the best combination of vibe, cocktails, and view we found in Palma. It looks straight out over the cathedral and the broader city. It’s open to hotel guests during the day and to the public at night.
🏆 My Personal Pick
The Nakar Sky Bar is my pick for best rooftop bar in Palma de Mallorca. It’s small, but that works in its favor. It has a good vibe, the cocktails are great, and the view of the cathedral and the city is the best I found. It’s also low-key. I was staying at the hotel, so I hung out during the day, but it opens to the public at night, which is the best time to go. Go up for sunset, order a cocktail, and get a spot looking toward the cathedral.
The Hotel Nakar has a sleek design and is central and walkable to the Old Town and the tapas districts.
- What to Order: A cocktail at sunset, with a spot facing the cathedral.
- Best If: You want the best all-round rooftop in Palma: low-key vibe, great cocktails, and cathedral views on one small terrace.
- Skip If: You want a big, sprawling rooftop. This one is small with great ambiance.

Best Rooftop Bars in Palma de Mallorca: What to Know Before You Go
A few things make a rooftop night in Palma go smoothly:
- Go in the evening, since several rooftops, including Nakar and Singular, are guest-only during the day and open to the public at night.
- Time it for sunset, since the cathedral and the sea are at their best in the golden hour and the bars fill up as the light drops.
- Book ahead at the popular ones, since the terraces are small.
- Check the pool rules, since the rooftop pools at places like El Llorenç and Singular are usually reserved for hotel guests even when the bar is open to all.

Best Rooftop Bars in Palma de Mallorca: FAQs
What is the best rooftop bar in Palma?
For the best all-round rooftop, the Nakar Sky Bar on Avinguda Jaume III has the strongest mix of vibe, cocktails, and cathedral views, though it’s small. For the biggest view, Rooftop El Llorenç in La Calatrava gives you views of both the bay and the cathedral. For sunset drinks, the Singular Rooftop at the Sant Francesc Hotel and its Mediterranean Sunset cocktail are hard to beat.
Can you visit Palma rooftop bars if you’re not a hotel guest?
Most of the best ones, yes, at least in the evening. Nakar and Singular are guest-only by day and open to the public at night. Hostal Cuba, El Llorenç, and Hotel Almudaina welcome non-guests during the day too. The rooftop pools, though, are usually reserved for hotel guests even when the bar is open to everyone.
When is the best time to go to a rooftop bar in Palma?
Sunset. The cathedral and the sea look their best in the golden hour, and it’s when the rooftops come alive. That’s also when they fill up, so go well ahead of sunset in summer. If you want a quieter visit with the same view, the rooftops that open at late morning, like El Llorenç from 11:30am, are calmer earlier in the day.
